Frequently asked questions
Everything travellers ask us first
Booking, visas, what happens day to day on a tour, and what occurs if plans change. Where an answer depends on written terms we say so and link to them, rather than quoting a figure from memory.
Booking and payment
How do I book a tour?
Open the tour you want and choose a departure date, or select your own dates if none of the scheduled ones suit. You then enter the lead traveller’s name and phone number and the number of adults and children, choose how you would like to pay, and submit the order. Our team reviews it and comes back to you to confirm.
Do I have to pay when I book?
No. No card details are requested anywhere in the booking flow. You tell us your preferred payment method — cash, Visa or Mastercard — and that choice is saved with the order. Nobody takes money from you before our team has been in touch and confirmed the trip.
Deposit amounts and the payment schedule are set out in our booking conditions.
Do I need an account to book?
You can browse every itinerary, price and departure date without one. Signing in is worth it, though: we email you a short one-time code rather than asking you to invent a password, and once you are signed in your bookings appear under My account, where you can follow their status and message our team in the support chat.
Can I travel on dates that are not listed?
Yes. Each tour lists its scheduled departures with the number of places left, but the booking form also lets you pick your own start date. Where a tour shows no scheduled departures at all, ask us and we will quote the same itinerary as a private departure.
Can you arrange a private or family group tour?
Yes — any itinerary on the site can be run privately for your own party, on your own dates. Larger groups are discounted on request, so tell us how many of you there are when you enquire.
What currency are the prices in?
Prices are quoted per person in pounds sterling. The currency switcher in the header converts every price on the site using live rates published by the central bank of Uzbekistan, which is helpful for comparison, but those converted figures are indicative — your booking is confirmed against the sterling price shown on the tour page.
Visas and entry
Do I need a visa for Uzbekistan?
Citizens of more than 90 countries — including the United Kingdom, EU member states, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and the UAE — can enter Uzbekistan visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. If your nationality is not on that list, you apply online for an e-visa through the official Uzbek government portal at e-visa.gov.uz before you travel.
The official portal is e-visa.gov.uz. Tell us your nationality when you enquire and we will point you to the right route.
How long does my passport need to be valid?
Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the date you arrive in Uzbekistan, and it needs a blank page for the entry stamp. Check the expiry date early — replacing a passport takes far longer than booking a tour.
Do I have to register where I stay?
Visitors must be registered for each night of their stay, but on our tours this happens for you: the hotels we use register guests automatically as part of check-in. Keep the small registration slips you are given until you have left the country, as they can be asked for on departure.
Where should I check the rules before I travel?
Entry requirements can change, so always confirm them close to departure against the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office travel advice for Uzbekistan and the official Uzbek e-visa portal. If anything in your case looks unusual, email us and we will help you work it out.
Read the current advice at gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/uzbekistan.
On the tour
What is included in the price?
Every escorted tour includes an English-speaking local guide throughout, all internal transport and transfers, hand-picked hotels with daily breakfast, and the entrance fees to the sites named in the itinerary.
What is not included?
International flights to and from Uzbekistan, travel insurance, visa fees where your nationality needs one, meals other than breakfast, and anything personal such as tips or optional excursions. If you are unsure whether a particular item on an itinerary is covered, ask us before you book.
Who guides the tour?
A local, English-speaking guide who lives in Uzbekistan stays with the group for the whole trip, alongside our own drivers for the internal transport and transfers. The site itself runs in 43 languages, but the guiding on our escorted departures is in English.
How large are the groups?
Group size varies by tour and by date. Each departure on a tour page shows how many places are still available, which is the best live guide, and we can tell you the expected size of a specific departure if you ask before booking. Private departures run for your party alone.
Can I join a tour on my own?
Yes. Solo travellers are welcome on the escorted departures, and the short breaks and small-group tours suit them particularly well. Where a tour charges a single supplement for a room of your own, the amount is shown on that tour’s Prices tab before you book.
How much detail will I have before I go?
Every tour is published day by day, with the cities it visits, a map of the route and the highlights of each day, so you can read the whole trip before committing. Final joining details are confirmed with you by our team once the booking is settled.
Money and cancellations
When and how do I pay?
You choose a payment method during checkout — cash, Visa or Mastercard — and our team contacts you to confirm the trip before any payment is taken. Deposits, balance due dates and the accepted payment routes are all set out in our booking conditions.
See our booking conditions for the full payment terms.
How do I cancel a booking?
While a booking is still pending or confirmed you can cancel it yourself from the Bookings area of My account, and the status updates straight away. You can also simply contact us and we will do it for you.
Will I get a refund if I cancel?
That depends on how close to departure you cancel and on what has already been paid out to hotels and ground operators on your behalf. The refund windows and any charges that apply are written down in our booking conditions rather than decided case by case, so read them before you book.
The cancellation and refund terms are in our booking conditions.
Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is not included in the tour price and we strongly recommend arranging your own cover, including medical expenses and cancellation, as soon as you book. Our booking conditions set out what we require of you here.
Insurance requirements are covered in our booking conditions.
Can the price change after I book?
Tour prices are quoted per person for the year shown on the tour page. Any circumstances in which a confirmed price could change, and what you may do if it does, are governed by our booking conditions — we do not vary that informally.
Price change terms are in our booking conditions.
My question is not answered here.
Email us and a person will answer. Tell us the tour, your dates and how many of you are travelling, and we can usually reply with something concrete rather than a brochure.
Write to travel@naseemus.com or use any of the routes on our contact page.
Still deciding?
Read the day-by-day itineraries, or tell us what you are after and we will suggest a route.
